The total cost of a UCF specialty license plate includes:

• State of Florida specialty plate fee: $25 (annually)
• Initial issuance fee: $28 (one time)
• Local tax collector and registration fees: Vary by county

Each UCF plate purchase contributes $25 annually to directly support student scholarships at UCF — including unlocking incredible opportunities for first-generation students.

Yes! You can request a custom plate number — subject to availability and additional fees. This option is available during the online ordering process.

Yes! You can switch at any time by visiting your local tax collector’s office or starting the process online through our site. Please note: Switching to any plate before your tag renewal period is subject to additional fees.

To avoid paying additional fees, you can wait until your tag renewal period before switching to the UCF plate. If you don’t mind some additional fees, any time is the best time to Knight Your Ride!
